wasn’t initially fond of Los Angeles. I didn’t enjoy the vibes and thought it was too disorganized.
In addition, I thought there wasn’t as much “to do” as there would be in a city like Tokyo, London, or Paris. But as I gave Los Angeles a chance and gave up attempting to fit the city into the stereotype of a normal tourist, I really started to appreciate its distinct charm and laid-back way of life. I think you will fall deeply in love with the city at that point as well. The city was intended for its citizens, not for visitors.
However, if you’re a guest like me, you’ll still need a top-notch place to stay. A journey can succeed or fail based on the hotel you choose. The city is so dispersed that your accommodations will greatly influence your experiences and amount of time spent stuck in traffic. Over the years, I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in Los Angeles. Here’s a list of some of my top hotels in Los Angeles to help you have an amazing trip:
1. The Kinney
In Venice Beach, there is a lively three-star boutique hotel called The Kinney Hotel. It, in my opinion, perfectly encapsulates the carefree, creative vibe of the city. I adore the lively and carefree vibe of the hotel, which is reflected in its retro-style furnishings, colorful décor, and oddball art pieces. A heated outdoor pool, a chic lounge area with fire pits, bike rentals, and a fitness facility are just a few of the many amenities available here. The hotel’s central courtyard, dubbed “The Quad,” is a gathering place with ping pong tables and a comfortable lounge area that are ideal for unwinding or chatting with other guests.
The chic chambers also exude quirkiness, thanks to their wooden furnishings and vibrant wall art. The bathrooms are reasonably spacious, have vibrant tiling and artwork throughout, albeit being a little antiquated. Fluffy bathrobes and complementary toiletries are also available. Incredibly for Los Angeles, there is subterranean parking available on the premises, making it ideal for SoCal road trips.
2. Sixty Beverly Hills
In the center of the well-known Beverly Hills sits this modern, four-star hotel. With mid-century design characteristics (such as geometric shapes, minimalist wooden furniture, and wide open spaces), Sixty boasts clean, modern interiors. The rooftop pool and lounge with its expansive city views is my particular favorite. Additionally, there is a chic restaurant and bar on the premises that offers creative fare and handcrafted cocktails. It’s a little costly, but that’s typical of LA.
