One of my favorite cities in Europe is Barcelona, which is also one of the most visited, bursting at the seams with summer visitors who come to explore and take in the city’s stunning art and architecture. It has a world-class food scene, a lively nightlife, sunny weather, and a relaxed pace.
I never get weary of going to the city because I adore its excitement. Although there are many neighborhoods to choose from, nearly everything you’ll want to see or do is concentrated in a small number of regions. Since I started visiting the city in 2006, I have stayed at a great deal of different lodgings. Below is my selection of the top hotels in Barcelona to assist you in sorting through the countless lodging options:
1. Hotel 54
This chic three-star hotel is situated in La Barceloneta, a popular coastal neighborhood with bars and clubs, and features a beachfront terrace. The rooms are well-lit by natural light and feature simple furnishings. They are straightforward but practical, with colorful accents that enliven the area and give the rooms a more lively appearance. While there aren’t many in-room conveniences (such as a desk or coffee/tea maker), every room has a flatscreen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. Nonetheless, the mattresses are cozy and roomy. The restrooms are roomy and feature strong shower pressure, however if you’re traveling with others, be aware that there is limited privacy due to the partially transparent glass wall.
2. Hotel BestPrice Gràcia
Situated slightly away from the main tourist spots, in the calm Gràcia neighborhood, is where you’ll find this affordable hotel. Large photos of well-known locations throughout the city adorn the walls of these quirky, one-of-a-kind rooms. Though they lack abundant natural light and are somewhat smaller in size, the rooms are nonetheless reasonably priced and cozy. Free Wi-Fi, a compact desk, and a flat-screen TV are standard facilities. Although they aren’t particularly large, the restrooms are kept up nicely and have strong water pressure. Although breakfast is not offered, there are many cafes in the area if you just want to grab a coffee. All in all, it’s a low-cost destination that’s cozy and uncomplicated.
3. Hotel Casa Fuster G.L Monumento
Tucked away on Passeig de Gràcia in a UNESCO-listed Modernist architecture, this posh hotel transports you back to bygone eras of European travel. It is a sophisticated jazz bar surrounded by enormous, elaborate pillars that give the area an opulent atmosphere. Additionally, there is a Michelin-starred restaurant on the premises that offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine. There are numerous more opulent features here as well, such as a sauna, multiple restaurants, and a rooftop patio with a pool.
These spacious, light-filled apartments are abundant with natural light. With hardwood floors and wooden accents, the décor is elegant and regal, and the beds are big and comfy. In addition, the restrooms are roomy, bright, and have excellent water pressure. In addition, each room has a desk, coffee machine, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, minibar, and cozy bathrobes. There is also a substantial breakfast included.
4. Saint Antoni Market
Sant Antoni Market is a chic four-star hotel situated in Sant Antoni, a rather hidden neighborhood that is well-liked by foodies. All of the rooms are apartment-style, which means they are very roomy and light-filled. There are exposed beams in the ceilings, and the rooms have wooden floors. The atmosphere is one of modern meets minimalist.
Each apartment has a kitchen, spacious bedrooms, a laundry room, a couch, tables, and air conditioning and wi-fi. (Because these are full-service apartments, breakfast is not served on-site, but there are lots of fantastic restaurants close by.) The spacious restrooms have huge showers, mirrors that magnify, and other amenities. The staff is incredibly kind and has lots of great suggestions to help you explore the area. It’s the best value hotel in the neighborhood, in my opinion. Note: A minimum four-night stay is required during peak season.
5. Serras
The Gothic Quarter of the city is home to this exquisite five-star hotel. The hotel’s facade gives it the appearance of a tiny castle or palace. There is a similarly lavish lobby, a restaurant with a Michelin star chef, and an infinity pool on the roof. On-site amenities include a fitness center and bar.
Here, the rooms are tastefully, simply, and sparingly furnished. In addition, they are spacious, light-filled, and soundproof. There’s also a tiny balcony where you may enjoy the view. There is free newspapers and bottled water available, as well as a turndown service every night and rain showers in the bathrooms. There’s a lot of variety in the breakfast (which is not included), with heaps of fresh fruit. It’s the best luxury hotel in the neighborhood that isn’t a chain.
6. Hotel Colón
This exquisite home, which is across from the centuries-old Barcelona Cathedral, has trendy rooms with huge windows letting in plenty of natural light, marble floors, and tasteful minimalist décor. In addition to a desk, coffee/tea maker, Wi-Fi, and a flatscreen TV, the rooms have incredibly comfy beds. The showers offer great pressure, and the facilities are quite spacious.
The rooms appear extremely modern and contemporary and have an airy, light atmosphere. All in all, it’s a serene motel located in a peaceful area of the community. The on-site restaurant serves wonderful Catalan cuisine, and breakfast can be included. There’s also a patio where you can enjoy the view.
7. Hotel Praktik Vinoteca
This hotel is in the Eixample neighborhood, which is known for its premium shops and large concentration of Gaudi artwork. This three-star hotel is beautifully decorated with a wood motif. The rooms have lots of natural light and a lot of wooden furniture and accents, which make a good contrast to the dark timber decor. The rooms are equipped with a desk, free Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV, however they may be somewhat smaller. If you’re traveling with someone, take in mind that the bathrooms are somewhat strangely laid out and don’t provide much solitude.
I think this is a wonderful premium hotel with affordable costs; the breakfast is good, though not particularly varied, but what is there is pleasant and fresh; there’s also a lovely courtyard with lots of trees where you can have one of the hotel’s famed wine tastings.
I always look forward to going to Barcelona. The cuisine, the entertainment, the leisurely pace of life. It is the finest. You can be confident that your hotel will be enjoyable, secure, and reasonably priced when you choose one of the hotels listed above.
