Breeze, a low-cost airline, announced on Tuesday that it will start operating flights from New Haven, Connecticut, which will be its second location in the state. On December 10, 2024, the airline will launch operations out of Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN).
Breeze will initially provide nonstop service to West Palm Beach, Orlando, and Fort Myers. In February 2025, other destinations will be launched, such as Vero Beach, Florida, and multiple cities in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
The airline already has a base at Bradley Airport; it began operations in 2021. New Haven will become a part of this facility, further increasing its Connecticut footprint. The distance between the two airports is about 50 miles.
Breeze Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, Lukas Johnson, stated in a press release that “from ‘Day One,’ our playbook has included significant growth across the Northeast region of the U.S. due to the high population density and limited nonstop travel options.” Because of this, our special kind of air service has changed the game for this part of the nation, offering citizens reasonably priced flights from accessible airports like Stewart-Newburgh, Westchester County, Hartford, Providence, and now New Haven, to mention a few. I am confident that when more and more people use our unique service and product, they will understand why Breeze has expanded so rapidly in such a short amount of time and what all the excitement is about.
Breeze has revealed ambitions to grow its operations at Bradley, possibly adding international flights, in addition to New Haven. According to the airline, obtaining the required certificates for foreign operations is currently nearing completion. By the end of 2024, Breeze intends to start offering international flights for sale.
